HISTORY
Denman & Goddard Ltd. was founded in 1853 and was originally described as a “Tailors and Drapers”. The oldest part of the company Hicks & Sons was founded in 1797 and traded extensively in Canada and The United States of America before being incorporated into Denman & Goddard Ltd. during the latter part of the last century.
With its long and strong connections with Eton College the world famous Public School, the company has numbered many famous people amongst its clients, particularly in the fields of politics and the professions.
Royal Warrants were held for their Majesty’s King George V and King George VI for the provision of Livery to servants of The Royal Household. This company was responsible for the supply and maintenance of The Green Velvet Uniforms worn by the ceremonial gatekeepers of The Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot Racecourse.
